When positions are available, they are advertised in the local newspapers and posted at public buildings in the Village. Seasonal summer applications are accepted after March 1st until all jobs have been filled. Applications for other positions are accepted as positions become available. PART-TIME DOCKMASTER POSITION

The Village is seeking qualified female or male candidates for at least one part-time Dockmaster position at the Marina. Candidates must be able to perform a variety of boat launching and dock operations, dock maintenance and clerical duties. Possession of a valid driver's license is preferred. Residency is not required. The work is expected to start around mid-May and will run through the summer for a total of 500 hours. From June 20th through Labor Day all Dockmasters will be required to work 40 hours per week. Salary range is $9.00 - $10.00 per hour depending upon qualifications and experience. SUMMER RECREATION PLANNING INTERN POSITION

The Village is seeking an energetic self-starting individual to prepare a Recreation Program Feasibility Report. The goal of the report is to prepare recommendations for staffing and services to be provided to residents and tourists. The Village wants to position itself as the premier tourist destination in Door County as a waterfront and recreation community. We are looking for someone with fresh ideas that can work with diverse groups. The Summer Intern should have an outgoing personality and be ready to come out of the summer with some great experience as a leader and project manager. The Report is expected to:
1. Conduct an inventory of existing and proposed park, marina and recreation facilities in the Village.
2. Conduct an inventory of existing recreation programs in the Village.
3. Conduct an assessment of existing and proposed utilization by residents and tourists of those facilities and programs.
4. Identify linkages with organizations outside the Village to utilize Village facilities.
5. Identify existing costs and revenues associated with existing recreation facilities and programs.
6. Develop programs and services to expand the usage of the existing and proposed facilities.
7. Identify potential costs and revenues associated with proposed facilities and programs.
8. Develop job descriptions for existing and proposed recreation staff, including a Recreation Director to accomplish the programs.

Qualifications:
We are looking for someone in their junior year of college or beyond majoring in recreation, leisure studies or a related field. Previous work experience is required, and experience in recreational programming is preferred.

Salary Range and Hours:
The job is a summer position not to exceed 600 hours, and the hourly rate will be $10 per hour. The work is expected to be full-time and can start any time after May 1st.
